Although there is no scientific evidence of a food as a cause of interstitial cystitis, many people find the condition that can eliminate or reduce the consumption of substances, irritation of the bladder potential to help alleviate your symptoms.

The food most irritating May are summarized as the four Cs. "The four" C "includes non-alcoholic beverages, caffeine in all its forms (including chocolate), citrus products and foods with high concentrations of vitamin C.

If you think certain foods make you feel worse, try to eliminate from your diet. Reintroduction of one at a time to determine what, if any, effect on the signs and symptoms.

There appears to be great individual variation in the effect of foods and drinks on IC symptoms. How much, how often, and the specific combination of foods and drinks varies for each person. Also, some fresh foods that bother you may not cause a flare-up when they are cooked.

Lots more information about eating with IC on the Interstitial Cystitis Association website at www.ichelp.org.
